Mobile Solar Panel System

Project Overview

The Mobile Solar Power Unit is a developing project focused on delivering dependable, off-grid electricity for agricultural and fieldwork environments where permanent power sources are not available. Built with mobility, durability, and ease of maintenance in mind, the system combines a solar panel array, power management components, and weather-resistant housing on a sturdy, wheeled frame. It is intended to provide renewable energy to equipment at Cal Poly’s Experimental Farm, showcasing how portable solar technology can offer a practical, sustainable, and cost-efficient power solution in real-world settings.

My Role

My role in this project focused on supporting the electrical aspects of the Mobile Solar Power Unit. I assisted with installing and integrating key electrical components, ensuring that the system was properly assembled and functioned as intended. In addition to the hands-on work, I developed a detailed schematic of the electrical system, clearly outlining all connections and components. This documentation was essential for communicating the design to our customer, allowing them to understand the system and supporting future use, maintenance, and potential modifications.
